Welcome to PubForge!

Pubforge.org is a resource being built by a group of folks from public broadcasting organizations interested in sharing and applying (mostly) open-source solutions to common problems faced in the transition from traditional to new media.

A working group met at the recent Beyond Broadcast meeting in Boston and chose this domain to be the home for a discussion about common problems, for shared wisdom on best practices, for shared code and recommendations, and to be a repository for useful tools and applications.

In short, PubForge seeks to:

  1. Be an online resource for public media technologists to share solutions.
  2. Reach open source developers who are interested in contributing their talents to public broadcasting. "donate code not dollars"
  3. Identify collaborative projects among public broadcasters.
